I am an aspiring artist living in south London, though originally from a small village in Suffolk.  For as long as I can remember, I’ve found art a great way to escape, mostly from work. To date, my proudest moment as an artist was when at the age of 10 I won a local competition for my drawing of a windmill.  Since then, I have discovered oil paints and, with some help, learnt to use them.  I still enjoy using other mediums, but find that oils give the greatest freedom to make mistakes and keep a painting lively.

In particular, I like to paint people and landscapes, though I’m still influenced by an early obsession with birds of prey (you’ll find a couple knocking around here), and will have a go at anything.  Ideally, I like to work from life, but this isn’t always possible or easy.  Whatever the subject, my aim is to capture something of its spirit and to produce a piece that I, and hopefully others, will enjoy looking at.  If you like what you see, please feel free to commission a picture or order a print.
